Desiree Olivera, MA, Registered Psychologist, Owner
Welcome! A bit about my education and experience: I received my bachelors degree from the University of Calgary and my master’s degree from Yorkville University. I acquired my clinical training at the Claresholm Centre for Mental Health and Addiction, one of the largest inpatient hospitals in Alberta treating complex mental health disorders. Through my work, I developed a passion for treating OCD and other anxiety disorders. I have completed a variety of trainings in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and successfully completed certification in ERP through the Cognitive Behavioral Institute Center for Education in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Other therapies and modalities I am trained in include Inferenced-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Rumination-Focused ERP, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Self Compassion.
The most important part of therapy is helping you make the changes you want to see whether you are experiencing anxiety, rumination, excessive worry, obsessions or intrusive thoughts. I work hard to create a warm and authentic environment to promote growth and wellbeing.
